DESCRIPTION:Let’s kick off the 2026 SIBC year with a bang!  Come and meet fellow SIBC members as well as the new 2026 Board of Directors for an evening of friendship and good cheer.   \nWe have a robust and fun-filled slate of activities planned for our members this year\, so please join us on Wednesday\, January 21\, at the Skidaway Island State Park Group Shelter facility from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.   \nWe’ll have a Happy Hour of wine\, beer\, and soft drinks waiting for you along with delicious light hors d’oeuvres.  If the weather calls for it\, we’ll stoke the fire while we paint the picture of the exciting year to come.  We are a TEAM\, and you are an important part of our success.  Come enjoy\, participate\, and find out where your volunteer spirit may lie. \nLook for an email the week of January 5 announcing the event.  Please RSVP by Wednesday\, January 14\, to Cheryl Walters at siboatingclub@gmail.com.  Include in your RSVP whether or not you need a State Park Parking Pass (see below). \nIf you have purchased your own 2026 Parking Pass from the State Park Visitor Center\, you’re all set.  If you haven’t and you need a Parking Pass\, one will be provided for you. \nLooking forward to seeing all of you there!

DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to say good-bye to winter and celebrate the opening of the 2026 Boating Season at our first Dockside Bar Happy Hour?  Come celebrate the Vernal Equinox with other SIBC members as we honor a long-standing boaters tradition of burning our old winter socks\, lifting a glass to the end of winter\, and cheering to a new year of boating.   \nIt’s all happening on Friday\, March 20th\, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dockside Bar at Landings Harbor Marina.  \nThis will be a Potluck Event.  If you plan to attend\, each household should bring ONE dish that serves 8 people as well as a serving utensil.  Your dish assignment is based on the first letter of your last name: \n\nA through F = Entree\nG through K = Side Dish\nL through P = Dessert\nQ through U = Appetizer\nV through Z = Salad.\n\nSodas and water will be provided.  $2.00 cash donations for adult beverages.  In addition: \n\nDon’t forget to bring an old pair of winter socks to burn.\nIf you so desire\, bring a new unopened bag of white athletic socks to donate to the homeless.\nIf you have one\, please wear your name tag.

DESCRIPTION:NOTE:  All boat trips are weather dependent.  Boat captains will determine if the trip can occur based on current weather conditions and the safety of all passengers. \nTake a unique behind-the-scenes tour of Thunderbolt Marine\, a full service yacht repair and refit facility located on the Wilmington River just outside Savannah\, GA.  Marine staff will highlight the facility’s capabilities for high-quality maintenance and repair work on all sizes of boats and sailboats\, including mega yachts. \n \nWe will depart Landings Harbor Marina via flotilla and head north\, cruising along the Intracoastal Waterway as we approach Thunderbolt.  Included in this adventure is lunch at Tubby’s Tank House\, a timeless local eatery overlooking the Wilmington River that is within walking distance of Thunderbolt Marine. \nWe have secured three (3) boats for this trip and can accommodate a maximum of xx members.  The cost is $15 per person to cover boat fuel.   \nNOTE:  Your meal is a personal cost to be paid at the restaurant. \nMore details to come as we get closer to the event.
