Flotilla to Wassaw Island Beach (CANCELED)

NOTE:  All boat trips are weather dependent.  Boat captains will determine if the trip can occur on the planned date based on current weather conditions and the safety of all passengers.

Designated as a National Wildlife Refuge in 1969, Wassaw Island is one of 15 barrier islands along the Georgia coast.  Located approximately 3 miles southeast of Skidaway Island and accessible only by boat, Wassaw is largely an undeveloped island of salt marshes, maritime forest, tidal creeks, and pristine beaches.

Travel with us via flotilla from Delegal Marina to one of Wassaw’s beaches where we will moor the boats, wade ashore with our supplies, and set up camp for a half day of picnicking, beach walking, socializing, and simply enjoying nature at its finest. 

We will meet at Delegal Marina at 10:00am to load the boats and then cruise to Wassaw.  We plan to return to Delegal by 4:00pm, weather permitting.  This is a bring-your-own food and drink event.  

The maximum number of passengers for this event is 25 people.  The prepaid cost is $10 per person to cover boat fuel.  

Please RSVP no later than Tuesday, 6/10/25, by using the PayPal button below to purchase your ticket.  Your reservation is confirmed only after payment is received.  Reminder:  On the credit/debit card payment page, replace the default SIBC email with your personal email.

If you are unable to purchase a ticket due to a sellout, please email Hugh Upton (hughandcharlene@gmail.com) to get on the waitlist.  Once on the waitlist, you will be notified if a ticket becomes available.
