Dockside Bar – Sock Burning Ceremony & Potluck

Are you ready to say good-bye to winter and celebrate the opening of the 2026 Boating Season at our first Dockside Bar Happy Hour?  Come celebrate the Vernal Equinox with other SIBC members as we honor a long-standing boaters tradition of burning our old winter socks, lifting a glass to the end of winter, and cheering to a new year of boating. 

It’s all happening on Friday, March 20th, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dockside Bar at Landings Harbor Marina. 

This will be a Potluck Event.  If you plan to attend, each household should bring ONE dish that serves 8 people as well as a serving utensil.  Your dish assignment is based on the first letter of your last name:

• A through F = Entree
• G through K = Side Dish
• L through P = Dessert
• Q through U = Appetizer
• V through Z = Salad.

Sodas and water will be provided.  $2.00 cash donations for adult beverages.  In addition:

• Don’t forget to bring an old pair of winter socks to burn.
• If you so desire, bring a new unopened bag of white athletic socks to donate to the homeless.
• If you have one, please wear your name tag.
