Flotilla to Thunderbolt Marine & Tubby’s Tank House

NOTE:  All boat trips are weather dependent.  Boat captains will determine if the trip can occur based on current weather conditions and the safety of all passengers.

Take a unique behind-the-scenes tour of Thunderbolt Marine, a full service yacht repair and refit facility located on the Wilmington River just outside Savannah, GA.  Marine staff will highlight the facility’s capabilities for high-quality maintenance and repair work on all sizes of boats and sailboats, including mega yachts.

We will depart Landings Harbor Marina at 12:00 PM via flotilla and head north, cruising along the Intracoastal Waterway as we approach Thunderbolt.  Once there, we will dock at Safe Harbor Bahia Bleu Marina and walk to Tubby’s Tank House, a timeless local eatery overlooking the Wilmington River, for lunch.

After lunch, we will take a short walk from Tubby’s to Thunderbolt Marine, where we will get a guided tour of the facility and learn how they service and retrofit yachts of all sizes for their clients.  The tour starts at 2:00 PM and is estimated to be about 1.5 hours.  Afterwards, we will walk back to Safe Harbor Bahia Bleu Marina for our return trip to Landings Harbor Marina.  We anticipate an arrival time of 4:00 PM.

Note:  This trip requires walking to and from Tubby’s Tank House, which is about 10 to 15 minutes each way.  It also requires walking with a guide for approximately 1.5 hours as we tour the facility.  Please wear comfortable shoes.

We have secured three (3) boats for this trip and can accommodate a maximum of xx members.  The cost is $15 per person to cover boat fuel.  

Your meal is a personal cost to be paid at the restaurant.

If you are unable to purchase a ticket due to a sellout, please email Cheryl Walters (siboatingclub@gmail.com) to request to get on the waitlist.  Once on the waitlist, you will be notified if a ticket becomes available.

REFUNDS:  Anyone who purchases a ticket and then needs to cancel must do so by 5/16/26 in order to get a refund.  No refunds after 5/16/26.
