Photos taken – Nov 2 Kayak Trip to Ebenezer Creek

On Nov 2nd, a few of SIBC’s more adventurous members and Sea Sisters went kayaking on Ebenezer Creek. When we arrived at Ebenezer Creek at 9:00 am and it was 35 F out. This was going to be a COLD Kayak trip! The few hearty souls on the adventure were able to see the Ebenezer Creek historic ecosystem first hand although the creek was very low and we were limited to travel along the main creek bed. Our members were able to kayak this scenic black water creek that flows through Effingham County and connects to the Savannah River at the Ebenezer Historic site. The guides showed us the giant cypress and Tupelo trees that inhabit this area. It was truly a unique experience. A Good Time was had by all although because of the frigid temperature and that many kayakers were wet, we did not make it to lunch…Oh well, next time we will do this trip in warmer weather with higher water levels.
